How to uncover your own personal purpose

Purpose is what gets you out of bed in the morning. What is yours?

Responsibilities, commitments, obligations. We’ve all got them. You can’t avoid them. Emotional, financial and spiritual. As we aren’t living an ascetic life in a monastery they are always going to be a part of living in the real world.

The language that we use to ourselves though makes these things sound so heavy and burdensome. Responsibility sounds weighty and complex. Commitments sound involuntary, and obligation sounds like a chore. They feel this way because usually our perspective is out of balance. When life feels like a hassle it’s often because we have lost our sense of purpose and our perspective is skewed.

Purpose gives you direction.

Purpose gives you energy.

Purpose gets you out of bed in the morning.

Purpose makes everything you do a pleasure because you know you are always heading in the right direction.

Purpose gives you clarity.

Purpose gives you perspective.

Purpose turns obstacles into opportunities, obligations into choices, responsibilities into an ability to respond.

Purpose gives us the chance of choosing creation rather than reaction. It’s just a simple rearrangement of the letters in reaction to turn it into creation. Just switch the ‘r’ and the ‘c’ around, but what a difference. You get your whole power back. You choose your life rather than being a victim of your circumstances. That in itself provides you with a strong sense of purpose.

Okay so purpose is the wind behind your sails, the fire in your belly, it’s your ‘why’, your reason for getting up and attacking each day with passion and dedication. The billion dollar question is then – how do you find your passion? What is your ‘why’?

So much has been written about this that it is almost impossible to navigate the overwhelming mass of advice and information that is out there. We’ve done all that work for you and in the next few weeks we are going to help you to uncover that purpose and make it start to work for you.
